The scene that meets the eyes of the visitor arriving in San Felice is that of the typical Sienese Chianti: undulating hills that slope down gently, alternating with rows of vineyards and olive groves as far as the eye can see, interrupted here and there by fields of sunflowers, centuries-old cypress trees that line the roads and farms, and thick forests. The San Felice farmland spreads over an area of 1600 acres, all within the area of Chianti Classico appellation. It lies within the municipal area of Castelnuovo Berardenga and is only 17 kilometers northeast of Siena. Its altitude ranges between 300 and 450 meters above sea level.
This unique 4-year vertical offers the opportunity to experience the differences of vintage years while maintaining the continuity of the same vineyard and basically the same blend of varietals (typically, 90% Sangiovese and 10% Colorino).
Wine Spectator Magazine has awarded the following ratings: 92 points for 1997, 88 points for 1998, 91 points for 1999 and 92 points for 2000.
